HopeHomeThe funeral is over and we are home. It was an exhausting time, but pretty much what you expect. Megan was such a support to me. Big Smooches to her. Thanks also to The Boys for watching the meows. It was sort of nice to be around my mom and dad long enough that Quinn now recognizes them from across the room. Two weekends ago when we were down there, she didn't know them from strangers on the street. Quinn also got to meet lots of family members and all of mom's friends. She was on her best behavior and charmed the socks off of everyone. So many strangers held her and she didn't bat an eye (as long as she could at least see one of us). My mom has not been taking good care of herself all of this time that she's been caring for grandma. There are so many things wrong with her and I don't think any doctor will touch her because of the congestive heart failure. I really don't know what's going to come of all this and can't really bring myself to think about it for too long. Completely unrelated, my plugged duct worked out by the next day. My supply was cut in half and it was sore on that side for about another day and a half, but now everything seems to be back to "normal."

Good-bye GrandmaAfter over six months of debilitating illness, my Grandmother passed away this afternoon. Mom called me at work to tell me that she was "dying" in case I wanted to come down. We decided to go, but she died within an hour of Mom's phone call. It takes around 2 hours to get there. I feel ok with not being there, though, because I said my goodbyes when I was down the weekend before last. I didn't really expect to see her alive again. I'm sure it will hit harder once I am down there. Here are some fairly recent pictures of her: I'm not sure when the funeral and such will be because it is too soon. I know that most of the arrangements are made already because she made all of the decisions back when Harold (my pseudo-grandfather) died. I worry some about my mom returning to life after doing nothing but watch over Grandma for all these months. Mom has a lot of health problems that she has overlooked all this time. Hopefully she will get some of those things taken care of now.

She napped!!!I just called the daycare (today is Quinn's first day at the new place) and they told us that she took a "short" nap this morning. By short, they meant a HALF HOUR! Hell, that's a respectable morning nap for her. I'm so excited. She was eating lunch when I called. The woman on the phone said that she was giving them "the eye" because there are so many people coming and going. I think that is Quinn's standard nosy nature, so they will probably continue to get "the eye." Anyway, just had to let my internets know. Pics from the Pittsburgh trip are off of the camera and I should get them uploaded tonight or in the morning.
